Auschwitz & I.G Farben

On April 14, 1941, in Ludwigshafen, Otto Armbrust, the I.G. Farben board member responsible for the Auschwitz project, stated to his IG Farben board colleagues:
"Our new friendship with the SS is a blessing. We have determined all measures integrating the concentration camps to benefit our company."

Auschwitz was the largest mass extermination factory in human history, but the concentration camp was only an appendix.

I.G. Farben was the producer of the Zyklon-B gas that was used in the Nazi gas chambers. Zyklon-B (Cyanide gas) was going to be replaced by the nerve gas ‘Sarin’, but the war ended before mass production could begin.
The nerve gas ‘Sarin’ (GB) was discovered in 1938. This was to be the first nerve gas which contained the Fluorine ion (G-series). Sarin is estimated to be 500 times more toxic than cyanide.

The nerve gases ‘Soman’ (GD) discovered in 1944, and Cyclosarin (GF) in 1949, are both Fluorides.
